Professor Kevin Bampton

CEO British Occupational Hygiene Society

The British Occupational Hygiene Society is the Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection, a scientific charity which is dedicated to the prevention of illness caused through work. It is the professional home for occupational hygienists and for asbestos control scientists. Kevin Bampton is a former professor of Public Law, Fellow in Healthcare and Foreign Office and UN Adviser

Mr Mark Kennedy

General Manager Salus – NHS Lanarkshire

Mark has worked within the NHS for over 38 years. From a Nursing background, with a keen interest in Health Inequality he was seconded to a Local Authority to lead Social Inclusion/Regeneration programmes. He returned to NHSL in 2006 as Director of Return to Work Services for NHS Lanarkshire. He is currently General Manager of Salus and has led the development of the Salus Return to Work Service and associated biopsychosocial model, successfully supporting working and workless populations across the UK via Local Authority partnerships and national employability programmes. He also oversees the only NHS body in the UK undertaking Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Disability Assessments within the welfare arena

Dr Eric Liu

Consultant in Occupational Medicine

Consultant in Occupational Medicine with experience in various industries such as Oil and Gas, Wind farms, Construction, Airports, and Fire and rescue services as well as other local authorities and universities. Current work involves providing occupational health services to various major national airlines, regional airports, offshore and overseas energy projects and local and national engineering companies.  

I am the current chairperson for the Scottish Society of Occupational Health regional group as well as a member of the Scottish Occupational Health Action Group.   

Professor Ewan Macdonald OBE

Consultant in Occupational Medicine

Ewan is Head of the Healthy Working Lives Group, which he established at the University of Glasgow in 1990. He divides his time between academic activities and provision of clinical Occupational Health and Safety services through his company MacOH Ltd.

Ms Claire Mathys

Policy & Public Affairs Consultant / Society of Occupational Medicine

Claire has over a decade of practical experience working in politics, both in government and Parliament, having worked with many organisations seeking to influence including businesses, charities, investors, campaigners and trade bodies. She has seen what makes organisations influential and effective, and she want to share this knowledge with organisations that want to make a positive difference in the world.

Dr Shriti Pattani

National Clinical Expert in health and wellbeing NHSE

Shriti is passionate about access to occupational health support for all people of working age through primary and secondary care, She is currently piloting a pathway for health and work advice based in primary care, this is shortly being extended to MSK hubs.

Mr Ian Tasker

CEO – Scottish Hazards

Ian joined Scottish Hazards in 2017, prior to that he was an Assistant Secretary at the STUC with policy responsibility for health and safety at work, including occupational health. Ian comes from a finance background where he became one of his unions first health and safety representatives in the early 1980’s. With an interest in occupational health stretching back 30 years, particularly its impact on workers, he supports occupational health support being freely available to all workers.
